about

I wrote these songs in a six-week period during the Summer of 2012. I worked late at night, trying not to wake my kids up, using whatever means available (toy instruments, whistles and a rusted 5-string guitar I had found in an elementary school garbage can a few years previous). As a total reversal of the typical song-writing chain of events (Music->Lyrics->Title), I compiled a list of song titles, wrote lyrics and finally music while trying to meet a self-imposed deadline. I already had 2 albums of material that was too difficult to record on my own so I kept things deliberately simple. Gabe Aguilar and Nick Burgess both graciously donated their services to help record and mix this album. The first album was leftovers from my old band, the 2nd was a collaboration for a super-group that never got off the ground... this is the 3rd but you get to hear it first.
